A Word From Our CEO & Founder Kala Gause

Hi, my name is Kala Gause, founder of Next Level and Beyond (NLB), Inc. I'm blessed to have a gift and the opportunity that allows me to inspire my co-workers, clients, friends, family and youth of all ages to elevate their effort levels to not only reach their goals, but also no matter what the current situation is, continue to improve upon them once the goal is reached.

NLB was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation under Section 402 of the New York Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.

This Organization and Foundation are tax exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and applicable State regulations and, accordingly, are exempt from federal and state taxes on income. Successful programming will require funding from private corporations, government and foundation grants, and individual contributions.

We believe in incorporating a strong sense of education, athletics and life skills into each student’s routine. We provide each student-athlete with the benefits of physical, emotional and social growth needed during these crucial developmental years.

What We Need To Grow

The cost is $800 per kid quarterly.  NLB will be a strong resource for expertise in youth development, but in the end there is not enough man power available to make NLB work. We will have to create and develop our own staff and volunteer coaches and managers. These volunteers will need training and development themselves to make sure the product of NLB is of the highest quality. There will be different levels of volunteers based on training and experience and those different levels will be compensated based on their respective level.

In the long term this will not be a problem.  In the short term it will likely be one of the bigger challenges. NLB has already begun to solicit help from other local organizations that have agreed to be major players in finding volunteer help where needed.

Program planning will assume that the participants will not be contributing anything. All costs will be covered by grants, corporate donations, and individual contributions. The participant contributions will be used to generate new programming in the future.

No child shall be excluded from any NLB programs based on the ability to pay.

Risk's & Challenge's

The biggest problem we are going to face is the size of the dream and the impact on the community will inevitably be noticed by everyone.  The problem with that is now political interests will be certain to get involved which can make things easier or more difficult depending on who gains and who loses from our presence.

A new program will take time to build trust with its members, that it is not here as a community service requirement that once fulfilled will be abandoned.  We are going to have to show that over time that the programs created here are  designed to outlive all who currently are involved.

Other Ways You Can Help

Because NLB wants it’s programming to be deeply rooted in the local communities it is important to look at how changes could affect the company. If NLB is going to be successful it will need support from the public school systems, local community centers and organizations, local politicians, and local businesses. The model of the NLB After-School program is diverse enough to withstand large amounts of community changes. Programming is being designed with multiple revenue streams, multiple facilities, and multiple levels of local leadership support. This should allow the organization to overcome changes in local government, changes in the local economy, and changes in the industry as a whole.   Please share this to as many people as you can to help contribute to our youth.
