Among the many benefits are physical fitness, confidence and stronger self-esteem, more energy, better memory, and simply a good feeling about themselves—and they are easy to achieve. Our team is as concerned about the growing problem of childhood obesity and the lack of exercise in their lives. Whether this obesity and inactivity is caused by the popularity of video games or the declining hours of physical education in schools, it is a wake-up call for everyone. Happily, here is a way of reversing this growing trend and helping our children to enjoy daily exercise and activities, which they will grow to love given the opportunity.

As pre-teens use computers and mobile devices more, the amount of time they spend doing physical activities decreases, and this puts them at a greater risk of becoming obese. Studies of adolescent behavior have shown that increased time spent viewing TV or using a computer is associated with being overweight. Your child will also learn what it takes to mentally and physically prepare them for what ever challenges face them at their Next Level while teaching them to have a competitive physical advantage over other student-athletes!

Keeping fit provides more than the obvious health benefits, it can help improve a teenager's mood, sharpen their mind and help their skin.  NLB uses a structured and disciplined environment to help students stand out from their peers. This can have a multiplying effect that will extend beyond their participation in the NLB After School program. We believe this will help change lives in the teams, schools, and neighborhoods where its students demonstrate leadership.

No matter what sport you play......Maybe you're an awesome athlete getting ready to compete at the college level. Maybe you're an athlete who wants to make varsity next year. Maybe you just want to become more athletic no matter what level you are on. Perhaps your seeking a future in the military or maybe you just don't want to compete in athletics at all. No matter what your goal is, it's time to get in the game at NLB!
